I keep hearing about Cape Verde, apparently it’s the next big thing in holidays and property investment but I have had my doubts over somewhere so remote. Luckily while on holiday in Tenerife, I happened to hear an interview on the local radio station Power Fm that reassured me on many issues.
Presenter Spencer James was chatting to Derek Muhs, managing director of the Atlantic International Property Group and what I heard definitely interested me. It seems that the islands aren’t that far away, just over 5 hours and now there are twice weekly direct flights from London Stansted. Derek likened the islands development to that of the Costas and the islands in Spain about 25 years ago, and I know they proved to be a great investment for a lot of people.
I was a bit concerned over standards of holiday accommodation and facilities to enjoy over there. It sounds good though, plenty of big international companies are developing major resorts and there are lots built near marinas, water sports are always popular. On balance I reckon I’m lucky to have a chance to invest in Cape Verde now just as it really starts to take off.
